Shares of Boeing Co. BA, -1.69% slumped 1.8% in premarket trading Wednesday, after a 737-800 aircraft made by the aerospace and defense giant suffered a fatal crash in Tehran. The crash of the Ukrainian airplane carrying 176 people onboard was not the 737 MAX model that has been grounded for nearly a year after two fatal crashes. Boeing's stock was acting as the biggest drag on the Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, +0.04% ahead of the open, but not enough to turn the Dow negative. The stock's implied price decline would shave about 41 points off the Dow's price, while Dow futures YMH20, +0.00% tacked on 18 points, or 0.1%. Meanwhile, the S&P 500 index's SPX, +0.22% futures ESH20, +0.19% gained 0.3%.
