Mark Zuckerberg no longer gracing us with his bizarre New Year’s resolutions - New York Post

Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg will no longer entertain the world with his overly ambitious and often bizarre New Year’s resolutions, he said this week.

The 35-year-old Facebook founder and CEO said he’s ditching the annual “personal challenges” that have captivated tech-obsessed Americans for years, including one that had the baby-faced billionaire — known for his uniform of hoodies and T-shirts — vowing to wear a tie to work every day.

“Outside Facebook, I’m a father now and I love spending time with my family, working on our philanthropy, and improving at the sports and hobbies I’ve picked up over the years,” he wrote in a Facebook post Thursday. “So while I’m glad I did annual challenges over the last decade, it’s time to do something different.”

The new tradition, Zuckerberg said, will concentrate on the longer term, “so I can make sure I’m focusing on those things,” he wrote.

In the past, he resolved to learn Mandarin ahead of a visit to China, where he showed off his new skill in front of a live audience. Also memorable was his 2011 proclamation that “the only meat I’m eating is from animals I’ve killed myself.”

“I think it’s called growing up,” Zuckerberg responded to a staffer’s comment.
