Some shoppers trying to take advantage of Costco's Black Friday deals on Thanksgiving were unable to checkout.
While Costco is one of the retailers keeping its doors closed Thanksgiving, it kicked off its Black Friday deals early online.
A message on the website Thursday around 11:20 a.m. ET says: "The website is currently experiencing slow response times. We apologize for any inconvenience."
That message remained on the website at 10 p.m. ET Thursday. App users also ran into issues.
Twitter user @gnfab tweeted "#CostcoDown I have been trying for hours to pay for my stuff!"
Many of Costco's Black Friday deals are featured in-store and online, but there are several online-only offers – including a 70-inch VIZIO 4K television for $599.99 available only Thanksgiving.

Costco wasn't the only popular website experiencing issues Thursday. Facebook and Instagram also were down for some users, but were fully functioning for all users Thursday afternoon.
"Instagram AND Costco down in the same day...? Are they trying to kill us?! #instagramdown #costcodown," Twitter user @shockey60 tweeted.
Costco officials did not respond to USA TODAY's request for comment Thursday. Along with stores, the corporate office was also closed for the holiday.
