Gov. JB Pritzker’s office announced Friday the two grand prize winners of its "All In for the Win" vaccine lottery are from Bloomington and Rolling Meadows.
Both are due to receive a $1 million cash prize.
The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) has not announced who the winners are. IDPH also awarded 17 scholarships of $150,000 each to fully vaccinated Illinoisans as an attempt to motivate more people to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.
Fully vaccinated Illinoisans were automatically entered into the lottery that awarded $10 million in prizes.
COVID vaccinations have slowed considerably in recent months as new coronavirus cases, hospitalizations and deaths surge across the state, prompting more vaccine requirements and a new indoor mask mandate.
IDPH said it notified the winners by phone or email Thursday and said winners have seven days to accept their prizes.
“Illinoisans from those cities and counties should keep their phones on and check their emails regularly to find out if they’ve won,” the governor’s office said in a news release. IDPH will call from (312) 814-3524 or email from DPH.communications@illinois.gov.
The governors’ office said winners will be announced eight days after the drawing unless they choose to remain anonymous.
