An 11-year-old Mays Landing girl was allegedly bitten, punched and strangled by her mother and the woman’s girlfriend in an attack that began inside a vehicle and continued on a Pleasantville street.
The girl’s mother, Nicole Miller, also is accused of strangling the victim.
When the girl said she couldn’t breathe, her mother said she didn’t care, according to the affidavit of probable cause, which paints a brutal picture of the attack.
Miller and her fiancee, Heather Grosso, were driving home from a baby shower with the girl and three other children ages 12, 13 and 15, when things turned violent.
The girl apparently sparked her mother’s wrath by telling the other three children not to talk to Grosso’s daughter.
Miller “got up and bit the victim on the right cheek and right wrist, and began hitting her in the face,” according to the affidavit.
At the intersection of Atlantic Avenue and Delilah Road, Grosso pulled over and helped Miller pull the girl out of the car, where both began punching the girl, the affidavit states.
The two also pulled patches of hair out of the girl’s head, the report states.
The victim then ran away to the East Leeds Avenue playground, and the two women got back in the car and drove the 12- and 13-year-old to their mother’s home in Pleasantville. The woman is the victim’s godmother, the report says.
After leaving the scene, Miller then called 911 pretending to be the godmother’s grandmother, and reporting that a man was damaging her vehicle.
But instead of finding a damaged vehicle, police who arrived at the Marina del Rey apartments were told of the assault, and that the victim was missing.
The victim was found in the park, and police called Miller to come to the station.
Both of her eyes were swollen, she bite marks on her face and wrist, scratches all over and a bald patch in the back of her head, according to Officer Marcus Ware, who wrote the report.
Miller was seen outside the station, but then drove away, the report states.
Miller, 32, and Grosso, 36, were arrested and charged with simple assault and second-degree child endangerment.
Miller is additionally charged with assault with significant bodily injury, filing a false report and hindering
Both are in the Atlantic County Justice Facility pending detention hearings next week.

Note: The Atlantic County Justice Facility no longer provides mugshots to the media, citing the Atlantic County prosecutor’s order. The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office says it’s part of the Attorney General’s Guidelines. There is no such guideline, according to the Attorney General’s Office, but they have told these offices for years that they should not release any photos that appear to be mugshots.
