CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Hitler praising former Fuhrer Donald Trump has denied he contemplated a coup as feared by Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Mark Milley in excerpts from a new book by Pulitzer Prize winning Washington Post reporters Carol Leonnig and Philip Rucker, “I Alone Can Fix It,” to be released Tuesday.
“I never threatened, or spoke about, to anyone, a coup of our Government. So ridiculous! Sorry to inform you, but an Election is my form of ‘coup’, and if I was going to do a coup, one of the last people I would want to do it with is General Mark Milley, " said ex-president Trump in a long statement.
According to the book, General Milley justifiably feared Trump may have been contemplating a coup to stay in power after refusing to concede his decisive election loss by over 7 million votes. Milley called Trump’s ‘Big Lie’ that the election was stolen the “Gospel of the Fuhrer” and “a Reichstag moment.” He referred to Trump’s post election rallies as “Brownshirts in the streets.”
Milley had met with the Joint Chiefs of Staff to ‘war game’ against a coup plot or other nefarious acts. He also feared Trump both invoking the Insurrection Act and starting a diversionary war with Iran. Among their potential actions would be resignations by the Joint Chiefs of Staffs and other Cabinet members one by one.
Trump moves pointed to coup plotting.
Despite Trump’s denial, Milley’s fear of a coup was justified and based on legitimate facts. Trump had just fired the Defense Secretary Mark Esper and replaced him with a Trump toady. Lame duck Trump also oddly put two more of his toads in ranking positions at the Defense Department.
The timing of Trump putting his toady tools in at the Defense Department is significant because it’s only the Secretary of Defense who can order troops into action, not Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Mark Milley or any other member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
At the same time changes in the Defense Dept were being made, Attorney General William Barr suddenly resigned without explanation. Add to that, former National Security Advisor General Michael Flynn went to meet with Trump at the White House and pushed for Trump to order Martial Law to stay in power.
In his denial, Trump said " if I was going to do a coup one of the last people I would want to do it with is General Mark Milley.” No, he’d try to do it with General Michael Flynn.
Beyond any coup Trump may have contemplated, there was the actual failed coup attempt of the January 6 insurrection attack on the U.S. Capitol. That in fact was a coup plot, not a mere protest. The insurrectionists went to the Capitol to stop the certification of the 2020 election which was taking place that day.
Trump’s heil Hitler history.
Milley’s use of Adolf Hitler and Reichstag metaphors were not baseless hyperbole when talking about Trump. Fuhrer Donald had in fact praised the 2017 Neo-Nazi march in Virginia. In 2018, Trump had also praised Hitler to Chief of Staff John Kelly, according to a new book by Wall Street Journal reporter Michael Bender.
In the book, “Frankly We Did Win This Election,” Bender recounts that during a 2018 trip to Europe for the 100th Anniversary for the end of WWI, Trump told Kelly “Well, Hitler did a lot of good things,” when Kelly was trying to school Trump on how WWI led to WWII and Hitler’s atrocities.
Mixed in with the QAnon and white supremacist supporters at the Jan 6 insurrection for Trump were neo-Nazis wearing anti-semite garb including a “Camp Auschwitz” sweatshirt.
This past week, House Speaker wannabe, Republican Reich Rep. Kevin McCarthy went to heil and tie the Nazi red too long tie of 2024 GOP frontrunner Trump at his New Jersey golf club.
Jordan pinned by Cheney
McCarthy may also next name fellow Trump orange and brownshirter Rep Jim Jordan to the Jan 6 Commission investigating the very coup the Ohio buckeye nut helped foment, as Rep. Liz Cheney bluntly and crudely told him during the attack.
The Leonnig and Rucker book recounts that Cheney told Milley the following about her encounter with Jordan during the insurrection:
“That f---ing guy Jim Jordan. That son of a b----... while these maniacs are going through the place, I’m standing in the aisle and he said, ‘We need to get the ladies away from the aisle. Let me help you.’ I smacked his hand away and told him, ‘Get away from me. You f---ing did this..”
The voters in Jordan’s Ohio Daffy Duck shaped district can once again be proud of the hand slapped wrestling champion.
